A Walk Through Heaven

Lord give me your strength,
to make it through this day.
Hold me close and tell me
It’ll be okay.

I know she is happy
with you by her side,
but OH how we’ll miss her
as the days go by.

I sit and I think,
what it must be like;
to enter your kingdom
with the blink of an eye.

There at the gate
with their arms open wide;
stood her husband, her daughter
AND her grandson.

Her eyes were amazed
at the beauty she saw.
As she watched the angels
dance in the air.

She looked just ahead and
saw a great light.
The colors of the rainbow
filled her sight.

Out of the blue
Right before her eyes
Was her Master, her Father
her Savior, her Lord.

She knew in instance
that he was the ONE;
who picked her up
and carried her home.

She ran to her Master and
fell to her face.
He lifted her up and
kissed her sweet face.

Oh sweet Jesus
Daddy, I can see.
Thank you for sharing
her life with me.

So the tears may flow
and my heart may ache;
but one day she will meet me
there at your gates.

Hero

What is a hero????? I look up to alot of people for what they have accomplished with their lives and the stands they have taken for what they believe in. I'm not sure if I would call them my hero though. I think everyone has a purpose and when you find that purpose in life and do something with it that is definitely something to be proud of.....I only have 1 true hero and that is Jesus for giving me the ultimate gift and that is forgiveness in the eyes of God, since he paid the ultimate price by giving his life we can all be forgiven for our selfish sinful ways. Thank you Jesus!!!!!

Dylan Seth White

My oldest child and only son....Dylan was my little miracle baby. He threw us for quite a scare when he was born and at times we weren't sure if he would make it. Dylan had beta strep when he was born, a bacteria that attacked his blood cells and oxygen. He had 2 blood transfusions and was in intensive care for 11 days. He has grown into quite the young man. Dylan is so tender hearted, he can't stand to see anyone upset. He is always there trying to cheer anyone up when they are having a bad day or whatever the case may be.....He loves football, skateboarding, hunting, fishing and girls of course!!!!! I am so proud of my son.......He has a bigger heart then most men and that is definitely something to brag about. lol lol lol

Alexia Marlee Wisham

Alexia is my middle child and my everyday challenge. My mother says she is just like me when I was little...So, I guess I have quite a few more challenges ahead. Nevertheless, she is a wonderful little girl. She is extremely smart, loves to write stories and songs and just be a typical 8 year old girl. She loves music and acting, she actually auditioned for a commercial once and loved it. We had loads of fun with that. My life would not be the same without her that is for sure....I love her to death.

Isabella Brooks Wisham

My baby girl is turning 7 years old tomorrow(New Years Eve). It seems like yesterday and she was still a baby.....I call Isabella the little "angel" of the family. She is so sweet and always eager to help. She takes pride in everything she does. It's funny though, b/c if she gets really tired she acts up from time to time, but all I have to say is "Bella where did your halo and wings go?" and she is right back to her normal sweet self. I love her so much and couldn't picture my life without her.

A Wonderful Lady

My grandmother was my life for the longest time. I wanted to post a little something on here for the rest of the world to see how lucky I was to be blessed with the best grandmother God could spare. I'm thankful for the time that I got to spend with her and never want my memories of her to fade.

I wrote this poem for my dad in 1999, needless to say that was the last Christmas with "My Georgie".

A Wonderful Lady

A wonderful lady with so much love.
You could see it in her eyes, as gentle as a dove.
Hardworking and talented, a life full of dreams.
that wonderful lady had such a bright gleam.

Her memories are fading as the days go by,
she's like a stranger in a crowd about to cry.
I stand and I watch with tears in my eyes,
please dear God take over her life.
Why must she suffer? Please tell me why....
Frustrated and angry I simply just cry.

Remembering her loved ones is such a hard task.
She doesn't even remember her past.
We show her our pictures and explain who we are,
She wants to remember but the memories are too far.
The days are getting closer when we'll soon have to say:
I love you and I'll see you again one day.

My Grandmother

Me and "My Georgie"..... I miss her so much.

Outlaws/Mobsters

Babe Simpson, the Bank Robber in the Family Tree

Yesterday my brother found this website with lots of interesting facts pertaining to my family. The man in this picture is Babe Simpson who is my

grandmother's brother. Babe was a gangster of some sort.

The picture was taken in Knoxville. The back of the picture is an advertisement for "The Askins Stores, 506 S. Gay St., Knoxville, Tenn."

Babe had been in the Bunch Gang. All of which I had never heard of.

Clarence Bunch was the leader of the gang. He was shot in Knoxville in 1934.  After escaping from the Cocke County jail in Newport, Tennessee on May 15, 1934, Clarence and his gang rampaged through Claiborne, Grainger, and Knox Counties. They killed Sheriff Hutchinson of Union County. They stole cars and robbed travelers until they were finally trapped at the home of C.T. Epperson, who was described as a bootlegger and was a first cousin of Clarence's mother. Clarence was killed in a hail of machine gun fire as he tried to shoot Sherriff Brewer of Knoxville.

The Knox County Sheriff's Website mentions that Wesley Brewer, in his term from 1932-1936, "was Sheriff in an era when the Roger Toughy Gang was headquartered here and Clarence Bunch was killed in a shoot-out with police."

The Bunch of the Bunch Gang were primarily bank robbers. They operated mostly in Northeast Tennessee. I know Clarence escaped once while awaiting trial for a bank robbery in Virginia. He was killed in Knoxville in August 1935. Almost the entire front page of the Knoxville paper was devoted to the shooting, including a morgue picture.

The front page story was in the August 23, 1934 edition of the Knoxville Journal. The Journal went into a long decline and was sold to its current owners as a shadow of its former self in 1995. I'm not sure if Babe was present at the gunfight, but if so he survived. His brother, Walt Simpson told them that the gang had hidden some of their loot on the banks of the Tennessee River. When the gang tried to retrieve it they couldn't locate the hiding place. If the story's true, there could still be a Bunch Gang treasure somewhere along the river.

After he got out of jail, Babe apparently quit the outlaw life. He married a lady named Vernell(3rd marriage) and moved to Virginia, they had two children. Vernell had a son(Bobby) from a previous marriage.

Babe's real name was Jesse Edward Simpson, named after his father. He was born in 1909 in Petros, Tennessee. He died in 1978 and is buried in Fries Cemetery in Grayson County, Virginia. Walt Simpson passed away in 2007.

The majority of this information was posted by Les Jones @ www.lesjones.com/posts/002232.shtml

I am just now finding this information out. My grandmother(Mary Nell Simpson-Akers) is still living at 92. If you know any information about this gang/mob, I would love to hear from you.

Outlaws/Mobsters

So many thoughts.....

Hmmm......Where do I go from here? I've been thinking alot lately and have so many questions and thoughts running through my head......LIKE, what is my purpose here in life......Am I making the right decisions day to day......Why does my faith wither away so easily....Why do I doubt the most important things in my life......Are my children happier then I was growing up.....am I honestly happy with my life the way it is.....If I could change one thing, what would it be?????

So, many thoughts go through my head daily and I have stopped to think on them occassionaly but that is as far as I get with them. I just throw them aside because I don't have time for deep thought like this, I'm trying to raise 3 kids by myself and there is always so much more to do. But....maybe if I take one step at a time I can do this.

I hope to get a handle or understanding on these questions that take over my thinking from time to time by writing about them. I'm sure more questions will be added as time goes on, but for now I will start with this.
